A thread by Heet Tike here on his conversation with Kunal Shah. A great thread and the wisdom that Kunal Shah offers is great, so see the full video.

A Mental Model
The Lindy Effect: It basically says that the longer one thing exists the longer it will last in the future. This has a lot of exceptions in my books but it has a little bit of importance as well. As Taleb says “If a book has been in print for forty years, I can expect it to be in print for another forty years. But, and that is the main difference, if it survives another decade, then it will be expected to be in print another fifty years.”
A Story
On Friday, It was my Dad’s birthday. My Dad is the biggest inspiration for me he is the perfect example of a multidisciplinary thinker. He knows a lot about finance, economics, science, philosophy, and sports the list does not stop. One thing everyone can and should learn from him is the importance of reading. He has a degree in engineering and a CFA but his knowledge is very vast compared to his degrees. This is due to his reading. One more amazing trait of his is patience to keep up with my sister and me. I respect him so much for this and will always be grateful for his support for us. My Dad is also arguably my best teacher the way he can communicate complicated ideas to me using household examples is a real joy. Love you Dad. (P.S. he is also in my opinion the best investor)
